HOOT is a stop-motion puppet made during the Aardman Academy course "From Sketch to screen" with Jim Parkyn and Nancy Rose. I jumped on this occasion to practice a more cartoony and whimsical style to bring this owl gentleman to life.
From a 3D printed armature, the character is mostly made of plasticine clay, fabric and leather clothes with aluminium wires to give them movement, and Sculpey details.

About
From a French and Brazilian background, my interests were always multiple. But all of them have something in common: creating characters and worlds. Characters from terrible monsters to friendly owls and worlds thanks to my Set Design and Architecture studies.
My main inspirations are tales and folklore, Stop Motion movies and short films, old movies full of puppets and animatronics but also contemporary art, theatre and puppetry.
